BEYOND THE COURT: THE RISING STARS DIFFERENCE

At Rising Stars, we believe success isn’t only about the score on the court — it’s also about who our student athletes become beyond the court

That’s why Rising Stars is different from any other basketball program. Our commitment is to the whole athlete, combining first-class athletic development with programs that encourage academic success—all while building real-world skills, character and empathy.

That commitment is rooted in our mission:  Rising Stars utilizes teams to PLAY, LEARN, and GROW.

From financial literacy events and mental health workshops, to community service opportunities and our highly respected Scholar Athlete Program, Rising Stars is preparing young athletes for life — not just the next game.

FINANCIAL LITERACY EVENTS WITH JOVIA FINANCIAL CREDIT UNION

Rising Stars student athletes (and parents) continue to attend Financial Literacy events in our Community Room. These seminars help members of the Rising Stars family gain valuable knowledge on how-to budget, the importance of saving and how to build bright financial habits. A heartfelt thank you to Jovial Financial Credit for developing and presenting the tools that empower young minds with the financial wisdom needed as they enter adulthood.

INTRODUCING OUR 2026 RISING STAR SCHOLARS

The Rising Stars Scholar Program empowers talented student athletes by providing them with the resources and support they need to reach their full potential, both on and off the court. With generous support from partners like National Grid, this program helps these exceptional young people pursue their academic and athletic dreams with confidence and dedication.

A special congratulations to the Rising Stars Scholars Class of 2026! We had a wonderful time celebrating our amazing student athletes and their families. We can’t wait to watch these young athletes excel in high school—continuing to display strong academic performance, commitment to community and dedication to personal growth. The future is bright!

MENTAL HEALTH WORKSHOPS

In May, Rising Stars & North Coast Psychological Services hosted a Mental Skills Workshop for the parents of our student athletes—because we know that great performance starts with great well-being.

Licensed psychologist and former D1 athlete Dr. Kathleen Everson, alongside licensed psychologist Dr. Mark Terjesen, joined us at the Rising Stars Athletic Complex for an engaging and impactful conversation on mental health in sports. Parents learned how to manage their child’s performance anxiety and enhance their skills—both mentally and physically.

ANNUAL CLOTHING DRIVE – OVER 50 BAGS DONATED!

Thank you to everyone in our Rising Stars Community who showed up and supported our Annual Spring Clothing Drive in partnership with the Society of St. Vincent de Paul! With your generosity, over 50 bags of gently used clothing were collected to support those in need, including members of the homeless community. Donations were dropped off at the Community Room, where volunteers and families came together to make a meaningful impact. We are grateful for your continued commitment to service!
